The city’s largest museum, Xiamen Museum offers visitors thousands of artefacts, which are culturally or historically important, from centuries-old war weapons to porcelain and jade ornaments.

Overseas Chinese Museum– Part of Xiamen University, this educational institute’s fascinating collection of anthropological artefacts has been available for public viewing since 1953.

Gulangyu Piano Museum– China’s only museum dedicated to pianos is located in Shuzhuang Garden’s Tide-Viewing Tower on Gulangyu Island, also called “piano island” because of the long popularity of the instrument among local people.

The Huaijiu Gulangyu Museum was open publicly in May 1st, 2006. The predecessor of the museum is the Germany’s Modest Bank and has a long history. It is the red brick building preserved the best on the Gulangyu Island currently.

International Lettering Museum of Art of Xiamen– As its name suggests the International Lettering Museum of Art of Xiamen features the scripts and calligraphy of many lettering systems from across the globe.

Xiamen Science & Tech Museum– Established in 2007, the Xiamen Science and Technology Museum is located in the Xiamen Culture and Art Center, covering an area of 12,000 squares meters with the exhibition hall reaching 10,000 square meters.
